Dear Colleagues,
We are a few weeks away from heading to Fort Worth, Texas, for our 54th Annual Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association meeting, so we would like to share a few thoughts with you.
This year we had over 100 course hours to review for 30 plus hours of education, so we enlisted the entire Education committee to help pick courses. Remember, all courses qualify for maintenance of certification for the FOVDR and COVT attendees.
Our lecture scheduling format will offer concurrent courses, allowing us to satisfy the goal of providing a range of great lectures that meet a wide array of professional educational needs, thereby addressing professional practice gaps for attendees at different stages in their careers.
To document your attendance for each session, you will need to scan your badge going in and out of a course. COPE courses will have a scannable QR code at the end of the session, but if you don’t have your OE Tracker open or don’t get the picture, the only way to assure that you get credit is to have scanned in and out for the required timeframe. Scanners will be available 10 minutes before the session starts and for 10 minutes after the conclusion time of the session only.
With respect to wearing a mask, we will follow the guidelines of our meeting site, the state requirements, and the CDC recommendations. As of today, masks are not required indoors, but keep in mind that we should continue to be respectful of guests and colleagues who are wearing masks.
And finally, we would like to thank all of the many individuals who submitted courses. We would also like to thank the OVDRA staff for their ongoing contribution to this meeting, especially our Executive Director, Katie Kirschner, CAE, our Director of Meetings and Education, Mark Bice, CMP, Special Projects and Certification Coordinator, Lauren Bissetta, and Marlee Bunge, Member Services Coordinator. If you see them, please make a conscious effort to express your thanks for all of their tireless efforts which makes this meeting run smoothly.
Now, with housekeeping out of the way, come and enjoy the camaraderie, fellowship, and education that makes this meeting so special!
Travel safely,
Paul and Kristi
